Dr. Dorothy Baker
Dr. Dorothy Baker is a native of the Low
Country and is very excited to be opening a new pediatric dental
practice in her home town!
She received a BS in Biology from The
College of Charleston, and then obtained a degree of Dentistry at MUSC
College of Dental Medicine in 2002. After practicing general dentistry
for 3 years, she received her Pediatric Dental Specialty license from
The Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado in 2007. She is trained in
conscious sedation, pediatric oral and maxillofacial trauma, general
anesthesia and patients with special medical conditions. She is a
member of the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of
Pediatrics, American Cleft-Palate Craniofacial Association, Charleston
Dental Society, and the Greater Summerville Dorchester Chamber of
Commerce.
Dr. Baker is also the Dental Director at the
Coastal Center, Dept. of Disabilities and Special Needs and provides
dental care to these special individuals. She serves on faculty at the
MUSC College of Dental Medicine, and supervises dental student rotation
through the facility. She feels strongly in promoting training and
awareness for student dentists in both pediatric dentistry and
individuals with special health care needs.
Dr. Baker has an 8 yrs old son who attends
2nd grade at St. Andrews
Elementary, with whom she enjoys biking, camping, catching hermit
crabs, and playing at the beach.

Kristine Schaffer
Kristine Schaffer handles marketing and
works the front desk. Kristine has lived in the Tri-County area
for 30 years. She has an Associate
Degree in Business and is currently studying for a Business Management
of the Arts Degree at Charleston Southern University. Kristine has many
years of office experience and volunteers in the community. Kristine
enjoys church activities, scrapbooking and spending time with her
husband, son and daughter.
